National and Subnational Incidence Trend of Bladder Cancer in Iran: Report of a 12-Year Period

Background: Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide and also in Iran. Understanding bladder epidemiology great value for policymakers assists prevention early detection disease. Objectives: The aim present study was to report national subnational incidence trends Iran between 2003 2015. Methods: This investigated age-standardized rates (ASIRs) per annum from 2015 using data registration system Ministry Health Medical Education crude were calculated by dividing incident cases country province population, which provided Statistic Center Age standardization performed WHO standard ASIRs compared age, sex, province. Results: ASIR increased 8.35 13.57 men. showed a mild increase females, 2.12 versus 2.86 Yazd had highest rate men, West Azerbaijan women (15.13 7.79 100,000), while Sistan va Baluchestan Ilam lowest men (3.01 0.96 100,000, respectively). Conclusions: increasing trend Iran, despite clear decreasing global accompanying ongoing aging population highlights diseases as potential health problem upcoming years Therefore, it necessary organizations implement effective research control programs prevent further increases disease burden.
